BISNOW'S SAN FRANCISCO CRE Reporter Opening

How We Roll

As the largest media and events company for commercial real estate in North America, we know a bit about getting stuff done. There’s a reason the industry’s most successful leaders are clamoring to speak at nearly 300 events we have in 2016. (Aside from our great taste in breakfast wraps.) If your professional passion relates to connecting with players in the commercial real estate industry both online and off, you’ve come to the right place. We’re growing at an exponential rate and are seeking talented and energetic professionals eager to grow in our field. We’re on a rocket ship—pack your toothbrush, or get left behind.

How We Are Profitable

Bisnow generates revenue three ways: advertising, sponsorship opportunities at our events and of course, ticket sales for those events. However, all of this starts with our badass editorial team. And that’s where you come in.

What The Role Entails

  • Being our all-access pass into continuing to dominate the commercial real estate industry.
  • Working a beat, travelling around a city (be it NYC, Houston, Winterfell, etc.), covering the latest trends, personalities and news related to the commercial real estate industry.
  • Infiltrating the CRE industry—turning arcane data into useful and entertaining information while maintaining personal relationships with lots of leads and sources.
  • Having an intimate knowledge of your market’s CRE business—knowing where the major players are located and what events they attend.
  • Keeping it fun, snappy, and informative.

This Is The Place For You If…

  • You are incredibly well organized, pay attention to detail, never let anything slip and hold yourself to high standards.
  • You are looking for an incredibly challenging job which most people would consider emotionally draining and exhausting.  You, however, see monumental challenges and intense amounts of pressure as exciting; you like to push yourself.
  • You're highly competitive and entrepreneurial and can prove it. You don't like hitting goals -- you like crushing goals. You push yourself at everything you do, whether it be work, fun or fitness.
  • You don’t do second place.

Please keep in mind that as a fast growing, cutting edge media company, we look for innovation in everything so we do. So if you're great at everything above but don't like to change things up, get in the weeds and think of new ideas or innovate with fresh concepts, this likely isn't the right fit for you. But if you dig that, call us. Because so do we.

Think you’ve got what it takes? Or know someone who has what it takes? Prove it.

Send your resume to careers@bisnow.com, but don’t send a cover letter. Instead, in 100 words or less, answer how you would approach this scenario:

You’ve got the job and you start tomorrow. Don’t like the spontaneity? This gig isn’t for you. Like it? Read on…

Write a listicle about a commercial real estate developer who is also a media mogul. Your mission is to write a short blurb about them in whatever format you like. We recommend a punchy format, a very brief lead in, and an attention grabbing headline. Here is an example of a similar Bisnow listicle.
